Jill Rodila, MD

Board-certified ophthalmologist. Bascom Palmer fellowship-trained cataract and lens implant specialist. Founder of Rodila Eye in Palm Beach Gardens.

A Surgeon Who Listens First

Dr. Jill Rodila didn’t open Rodila Eye to be the biggest practice in Palm Beach County. She opened it to be the most personal.

After more than two decades in private practice, academic medicine, and clinical research, she had seen how cataract surgery was changing for the better, but the patient experience wasn’t keeping up. Appointments felt rushed. Patients felt like a number. Decisions about something as important as your eyesight were squeezed into a 10-minute window.

Rodila Eye was built on a different idea: that every patient deserves unhurried attention, honest guidance, and a surgeon who knows their name, their eyes, and their goals.

That’s not a tagline. It’s how Dr. Rodila practices every single day.

World-Class Training, Hometown Care

Dr. Rodila’s path to Palm Beach Gardens took her through some of the most respected institutions in ophthalmology.

She earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where she was named an Edmund J. James Scholar, received the John A. Center Good Physician Award, and earned the Russell L. Mixter Prize and Medal.

She completed her ophthalmology residency at Albany Medical College in New York, then went on to an elite Cornea and External Disease Fellowship at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami, consistently ranked the #1 eye hospital in the nation.

After fellowship, Dr. Rodila stayed on at Bascom Palmer as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Ophthalmology, training the next generation of eye surgeons while caring for patients with complex corneal and cataract conditions.

Today, she brings that depth of training to every patient who walks through the door at Rodila Eye.

A Surgeon Who Shapes What's Next

Dr. Rodila doesn’t just perform surgery. She helps advance it.

She has served as a principal investigator for clinical trials evaluating next-generation intraocular lens implants, giving her firsthand knowledge of the latest technology before it reaches the broader market. She was also a surgical proctor and trainer, teaching other surgeons how to implant advanced lens technology, and a national presenter on cataract and refractive surgery advances.

Her published research spans dry eye and refractive surgery, corneal disease, and keratorefractive surgical techniques.

This means when Dr. Rodila recommends a lens or a technique, she isn’t relying on a brochure. She’s drawing on direct experience with the science behind it.

One Surgeon. One Standard. Every Patient.

Dr. Rodila personally performs every evaluation, every surgery, and every follow-up. She believes that great outcomes start with great listening. Before recommending a lens or a treatment plan, Dr. Rodila takes the time to understand how you use your eyes, what matters most in your daily life, and what results are realistic for your unique anatomy.

That level of attention takes longer. It limits how many patients we see in a day. And that’s exactly the point.

“I visited two other practices before finding Dr. Rodila. She was the first surgeon who actually sat down, looked me in the eye, and explained everything without making me feel rushed. I knew immediately she was the one I trusted with my eyes.”

Restoring Sight Around the World

Dr. Rodila travels to underserved communities to perform cataract surgery for patients who would otherwise never receive care. She has completed medical mission trips to Honduras, Kenya, Liberia, and the Dominican Republic, restoring sight where access to an operating room is a rare gift. It’s a reminder of why she became a surgeon in the first place, and it shapes the gratitude and intentionality she brings to every procedure at home in Palm Beach Gardens.
